"Little Sorrow" Oil on canvas 16" X 20" won 1st Prize, "Best Painting of Exhibition" and 1st Prize, "Most Popular Painting of Exhibition" at the De Young Museum, S.F. in the 1950's = History of this very special Carved Stone Art Piece = Story told to Jack by Claire Farber, who lived in China as a young woman. Clair's Father was sailing on the yellow river to Peking, China. His boat was attacked by pirates, there was shooting and Clair's Father grabbed the boat's Captain to save his life. The Captain later showed his deep appreciation by gifting Clair's Father with a set of six carved stone panels, of which this is one. = As an admirer of Jack's art, Claire gifted Jack with one of her treasured panels. = Gift to Jack Feldman from Gus & Claire Farber, Diamond Jewelers / Grant Ave. San Francisco, CA.
