My First Oil Painting - June, 1949

Going through my father's art, it's fun to find the "Old Stuff", many are in great shape after being stored for a lifetime. This one is going strong at 69 years. ​"My First Oil Painting - June 1949". My father at 19 years old in art school, given a four year scholarship at "The Art League of California". J's Teacher Thomas Leighton, a portrait and figure artist from Canada & England who moved to California. Dad says a true friend. (Dad became a teacher here too.)
