TITLE: YOSEMITE, JOHN MUIR DISCOVERY.

Created by JACK FELDMAN AMERICAN MASTER ARTIST
Quality. Rarity. Condition. Provenance.

This is an artist's imaginative interpretation of several passages, written by the world famous naturalist and explorer JOHN MUIR (1838 - 1914), into his personal daily diary.

The subject of the writing was;

JOHN MUIR's first viewing of the wonderful and awe inspiring California's renowned Yosemite Valley, accompanied by massive howling winds that bent the tallest trees like tender blades of grass plus a monstrously frightening rain storm (the Valley later to become America's first National Park).

You can view the storm created winds bending the valley's massive trees, see two American Bald Eagles racing for shelter, a California Grizzly Bear lumbering through the forest,see the campfire smoke, blown by the winds, of the forever Invisible Valley Indians camping alongside of the valley's Merced River, view the Exfoliated Rocks created by the Ice Age Glaciers...and most of all, the Gigantic Valley that was slowly gorged out of the ancient earth by centuries of freezing... continual glacial creeping.

Also see the "ROCK CLIMBERS Highways" on the world"s largest single piece of granite rock...an impressive peak rising 7,569 ft. high. The monolith "EL CAPITAN".

My Father's 18" X 24" painting "God's Choice" 1987, shows John Muir and his Dog, Stickeen, visiting Yosemite for the first time in the spring of 1868. Two American Bald Eagles soar above, a California Grizzly Bear ambles by, and in the distance a campfire is used to prepare a meal for some Native Americans.
