Sketch #4 is of San Francisco's Cable Car in 1953. Printed to duplicate the actual size of the original on-site pen & ink quick-sketches my father created over 70+ years ago. These collectable San Francisco landmark series vintage prints, were sold on Fisherman's Wharf for many years during that time period in the 1950's, and I am offering them again now after all of these years. This is one of San Francisco's prime mobile landmarks... that endlessly fascinates every local and world tourist alike. All who visit and fall in love with "The City", San Francisco, cannot help themselves for also falling in love with this world famous mobile contraption that tames the endless and wonderful hills of San Francisco, "The City".
In this small pen and ink sketch print you will see: Preventing our view of the Rich and Famous Marin County is Historic Angel Island, San Francisco Bay entrance without the famous fog, a Sailing Regatta on the Bay, by the sails position you can see the cool ocean wind coming through the Golden Gate Strait.
The Golden Gate Bridge is just to the left of this sketch, the rocky island of Alcatraz "THE ROCK" Prison sits in the middle of the strait, At the base of this one of many San Francisco hills is a return to the past ferry boat, Fisherman's Wharf with all of its excitement and fine foods, Trees lining the streets in their spring glory, and last but certainly not the least... THE SAN FRANCICO HILLS own CABLE CAR.
Held to this earth only by a very long hidden cable. (Jack)
