Palace of Fine Arts, Pen & Ink 1953 #3 - J.F. San Francisco Landmark Series
San Francisco Vintage Landmark Series - Palace of Fine Arts, Pen & Ink 1953 - #3
Sketch #3 is of San Francisco's Palace of Fine Arts in 1953. Printed to duplicate the actual size of the original on-site pen & ink quick-sketches my father created over 70+ years ago. These collectable San Francisco landmark series vintage prints, were sold on Fisherman's Wharf for many years during that time period in the 1950's, and I am offering them again now after all of these years. (Jeff)
**The original sketch is 4.75" X 3.25" on 7" X 9" stock paper.

JACK FELDMAN - AMERICAN MASTER ARTIST (b.1929)
THE PALACE OF FINE ARTS (click here and scroll down for the history)
Built for the 1915 Panama-Pacific Exposition by Bernard Maybeck, designed to give eloquence to the mood of melancholy that Maybeck desired for his masterful stage set. To assist in this mood, a large reflection pond with natural luxuriant foliage and beautiful attending live water foul was designed to enhance the night lighted palace in all of its reflective beauty for San Francisco's strolling viewers.
(My Grandfather, Jack's Father, Anthony Feldman (1900-1981), was a tenor singer at the 1915 Exposition, fun family history). Today it is even more beautiful with age and loving care. The home of the amazing scientific Exploratorium, a fine theater, and a contemporary art gallery. (Jack)
