My Father often talks about Picasso, describing his life and his work. I'd like to share this video for those who wonder how much money there is in art, and for those that doubt if ever really happens. Something to think about...... J

I guess we have to practice a bit more, but I felt it was important to simply get Dad's information up online.

Dad's Logo, Initially was created during his Universe Series, in the 1980's, almost as a planet like Saturn. Later he changed it to show birds wings in flight, because of the wildlife work he is very fond of. Over the years the logo has changed a bit, even though it was created in the 1980's, Dad has gone back through much of his art and added this very personal mark to them. We spent days together, recently, making videos, adding the logo and signature, and documenting his study materials. Even these, small and large, scraps of paper with sketches and study work may someday be important. best J
I'm finding these wonderful "studies" that Dad created, and realize now the lengths he went through to learn his subjects. The time, effort, and energy that went into each of these "studies" must have taken many hours. I know many of these were compiled at "The Academy of Science" in San Francisco, where the scientist allowed Dad to actually go in the back rooms and help himself to any material he needed. (See "In the Eye of the Beholder - Dolly Varden Trout Painting)
Going through my father's art, it's fun to find the "Old Stuff", many are in great shape after being stored for a lifetime. This one is going strong at 69 years. "My First Oil Painting - June 1949". My father at 19 years old in art school, given a four year scholarship at "The Art League of California". J's Teacher Thomas Leighton, a portrait and figure artist from Canada & England who moved to California. Dad says a true friend. (Dad became a teacher here too.)
This is a vine charcoal drawing made in preparation for a life-size portrait painting to be installed into the then proposed ALICE EASTWOOD HALL OF BOTANY to be created in San Francisco's famous Golden Gate Park. The painting was never completed...the ALICE EASTWOOD HALL OF BOTANY was never built.
A WORLD RENOWNED WOMAN BOTANIST, ALICE EASTWOOD left her small bed to become dressed and have her snow white hair gently combed by an attending friend, only minutes before resting again on the edge of that same warm bed for each sitting of this portrait study... her final portrait, completed three months before her peaceful and endless journey. ALICE SHARED ALBUMS of PHOTOS and MEMORIES of her many famous naturalist friends and her very personal botanical discovery experiences, as we enjoyed our friendly visits. Alice also mentioned that her favorite flower was the beautiful large red rhododendron from the rhododendron gardens in San Francisco's famous Golden Gate Park, near the California Academy of Sciences, where she spent many productive years furthering her botanical studies and increasingly adding new discoveries and knowledge to the world's science of botany. To Alice's delight, I brought that beautiful large red rhododendron flower to her daily throughout our sittings. In return I always received the warmest of smiles and a very gentle thank you, as she sat again for her portrait study... and knowingly, her final portrait. Upon viewing the portrait study Alice commented, "What a beautiful portrait, I truly love it, thank you...and also... thank you for bringing to me my favorite rhododendron flowers. They are very special to me." Title: "KATRINA" NEW ORLEANS - AUG.29, 2005 Created by JACK FELDMAN AMERICAN MASTER ARTIST This disastrous and important national event is still unsettled, and continues to create a vicious and on-going national stir to this very day - Wed. September 12, 2012. A NEW NATIONAL ICON for those who care. An important world viewed social commentary painting of the popular "AMERICA TODAY" ART SERIES. "KATRINA" a lone survivor, with a broken pair of well used eyeglasses and a lovingly worn simple old-gold wedding band..."wrapped only in the symbol and security of American beliefs and promises"... the harsh and distant calls of the uninvited, yet oncoming, ruckus droves of both human scavengers and scavenger crows can still to be fearfully heard and seen until this day. Today, it is perfectly clear to All Aware People of the World and especially American Citizens: "POLITICAL WORDS TRULY SPOKE MUCH LOUDER ... THAN POLITICALLY UNFULFILLED PROMISES AND DEEDS"...in Katrina's unforgettable year and date of August 29, 2005. Those lucky enough to live through this catastrophic storm, many did not, are not refugees...they are survivors, they are us...they are Americans Citizens... asking only to be helped and treated as, we were all taught since childhood to believe, we are all equal American Citizens. Katrina's Subtitle: "HELP IS ON THE WAY." ( President George W. Bush said that? Do you REMEMBER?) For many help is still unseen and still on the way. Sept.12,2012. (Dad says "help is still on the way! people are still waiting!" Nov. 9, 2019) An original commissioned portrait painting by Jack Feldman, American Master Artist, of the 44th President Barack Obama in 2014. President Barack Obama just landing at the airport, and happily acknowledges the crowd. You see he is relaxed, and happy to see them welcoming him. He waves to them as a slight breeze takes his tie. A beautiful blue sky, beautiful day, a happy man, heading to his next meeting.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- TITLE: YOSEMITE, JOHN MUIR DISCOVERY. Created by JACK FELDMAN AMERICAN MASTER ARTIST Quality. Rarity. Condition. Provenance. This is an artist's imaginative interpretation of several passages, written by the world famous naturalist and explorer JOHN MUIR (1838 - 1914), into his personal daily diary. The subject of the writing was; JOHN MUIR's first viewing of the wonderful and awe inspiring California's renowned Yosemite Valley, accompanied by massive howling winds that bent the tallest trees like tender blades of grass plus a monstrously frightening rain storm (the Valley later to become America's first National Park). You can view the storm created winds bending the valley's massive trees, see two American Bald Eagles racing for shelter, a California Grizzly Bear lumbering through the forest, see the campfire smoke, blown by the winds, of the forever Invisible Valley Indians camping alongside of the valley's Merced River, view the Exfoliated Rocks created by the Ice Age Glaciers...and most of all, the Gigantic Valley that was slowly gorged out of the ancient earth by centuries of freezing... continual glacial creeping. Also see the "ROCK CLIMBERS Highways" on the world"s largest single piece of granite rock...an impressive peak rising 7,569 ft. high. The monolith "EL CAPITAN". --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- My Father's 18" X 24" painting "God's Choice" 1987, shows John Muir and his Dog, Stickeen, visiting Yosemite for the first time in the spring of 1868. Two American Bald Eagles soar above, a California Grizzly Bear ambles by, and in the distance a campfire is used to prepare a meal for some Native Americans. (Back of Painting: "GOD'S CHOICE" Wind Through Yosemite Park Valley, CA U.S.A. with John Muir & Dog, Bald Eagles, Grizzly Bear.) Jeff here, Jack's Son = I'm in the process of organizing and cataloging Dad's Artwork. Carlin Jardine, Dad's good friend and photographer, has taken the pictures of over 800 pieces of original work, and I have another set of pictures of the study art,...you know, sketches, rough drafts, and the like. Just like any other job, this will take some time to get it right. I really hope you enjoy viewing the "making of" Jack Feldman's Fine Art History and Works from the 1940's through the 2020's. = (Addition) I am the son, principal partner, and owner of all Jack Feldman, American Master Artist's unsold works and portfolio. I am in the process of telling his story through his 80+ years of painting, drawing, sketch-work, and the very important study-work he meticulously created to learn everything there is about the subjects he was interested in. I hope to share his artwork, inspirations, and video storytelling. As with everything, it is a work in progress, please visit our website at www.JackFeldmansFineArt.com. We'd like you to enjoy the artwork, leave comments, and share with family and friends.
